Max TS#10 - Karim
3/4
In our tutoring session on March 4, Karim and I continued with his reading comprehension and TOEFL practice questions to continue strengthening the skills he feels weakest in. We read a news article about the impending weather and we discussed this as he was unfamiliar with tornadoes. This day's session was full of casual conversation and cultural exchange as we discussed his family back home, and as previously mentioned, tornadoes vs. hurricanes here in Florida. Seeing as much of the session was conversation and less of a structured lesson, I made sure to nitpick at his errors - grammatical or otherwise. Lastly, we did a couple exercises he told me about from Dr. Rios' class where I gave him a problem, and he had a bit of time to write up a plan with reasons and explanations for how to fix my problem. We did a few of these and it seemed to be very productive. Karim continues to be great a error corrections and problem solving.
