Isabelle TS#13 with Livio
Date/Time: Thursday, March 6th, 2025, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Location: Online on Zoom
Topic/Skill: Speaking with Grammar (Present and Future Tenses)
Feedback provided to the tutee: For this lesson, Livio and I continued working on the activity we started on Tuesday, but we focused on the present and future tenses. This second part of the activity was certainly more difficult given that Livio struggles the most with future tenses, however, since he was exposed to this kind of activity earlier in the week, this familiarity worked in his favor. I continued the same feedback strategy that I have been employing with him and it continues to benefit us both!
Lesson(s) about tutoring: I learned about how important grammar-in-use activities are because Livio has great knowledge of grammar tenses at this point, but it's his grammar-in-use skills that need support. These skills can only be developed through such activities, and this was something I previously understood, but to see it in my own tutee truly solidified the idea and reminded me of it!
