Ramirez CO#3&4: Flemming

 01/31/25 Flemming 9-10:45am Speaking

Topic/Skill: group 1 and 2; presentation, true or false questions, Pictionary

Teacher Presentation:  start with breakdown of class that day: presentations, break, and Pictionary. Professor made his own presentation and true or false questions as an example for the class (showed in the class before so I didn't see his)

Classroom Management: highlighted the difficulty of speaking to lower level English students, interesting to see how he spoke to them -- spoke to them like children, which I didn't really like

Materials: Used canvas dashboard as an outline for schedule for the day -- I did like that. Flashcards he made for Pictionary

Student Participation: students presented a powerpoint of their "secret city", explaining the weather, the people, where the city is close to, and other students had to guess what city it was. -- I felt this was a really good example of how to get all the students to participate and pay attention to other presentations

Feedback provided: N/A -- students get feedback after he grades them. He posted recordings of their presentation so they could listen themselves.

Lessons on teaching I learned: Pictionary is a good game for practicing vocabulary and also meaningful interaction between students and teacher. The secret city, and having students guess what city each student was presenting on was a really good way to make sure people were paying attention
